How we got here and Why?
My name is Abigail Tilley-Welch and I am the Executive Director & creator of Maggie Mayflower Rescue. I got my first rescue cat at the age of 3 and her name was Maggie Mayflower. Growing up with Maggie gave me an instant best friend and one of the best listeners I've came across. Maggie passed away of cancer when I was 13 years old and ever since then I knew what my goal in life was going to be. Over time I have rescued over 40 animals and always have a growing fur-family. My husband and I currently provide for 17 cats, 4 dogs, 2 goats, 3 pigs, 6 chickens, several mice, and a few fish.
I graduated UNCC with a organizational communications degree, started my own all-animal care business (Tilley Animal Village, LLC) and immediately began working on creating a non-profit no-kill animal rescue & shelter to help save animals around the community and give animals a second chance & fur-ever home. Whether it be a mouse, pig, chicken, cat, dog, turtle, lizard, goat, dog, chinchilla, rat, guinea pig, hamster, or bird, or any other animal, WE WANT TO SAVE THEM ALL!
Maggie Mayflower Rescue saves animals from high-kill animal shelters and finds them homes through fosters & adoptions. We also take in stray animals from the community, injured animals who need extensive vet care, as well as surrender animals who no longer have a loving home. We have background knowledge and education in sick animals, senior-pets, exotic and farm pets, as well as pregnant animals and nursing newborns. If we can't provide the best care, then we rely on other organizations in the community to help provide the care that we cant.
WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT ONLY SURVIVES ON DONATIONS, GRANTS, AND FOSTERS. ANY AMOUNT OF DONATION HELPS US PROVIDE FOR ANIMALS IN NEED (FOOD, SUPPLIES & MONEY DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED)!
